What To Expect

Your cosmetic veneers could be created in our office with CEREC technology while you wait, or the impressions can be sent to a dental laboratory where your custom veneers will be crafted out of high-quality porcelain material. When your custom veneers are ready, we will remove a small amount of enamel from the front of your teeth. This creates space for the veneers and improves the bond for a more natural result that lasts a long time. Once your veneers are bonded, we will make minor adjustments so your veneers fit well.

Since getting veneers usually does not require anesthesia, you should be able to get back to your daily activities after your appointment. You may experience some sensitivity to hot and cold food for a few days, but this should subside naturally. Your veneers should be cleaned like your natural teeth with frequent brushing and flossing. While porcelain veneers are more resistant to stains compared to your natural enamel, you should still avoid staining food and drinks to keep your smile bright. To avoid chipping your veneers, you should not chew on hard objects, such as ice or your fingernails.
