Emergency Dental Care Springfield, MA

Overview

Accidents happen, which is exactly why our skilled dental team offers emergency dental care at our office in Springfield, MA. Some common oral injuries are cracked, broken, and knocked-out teeth. Incidents may happen when biting or chewing food that's too tough for your teeth to handle, a mishap while playing sports, a bad fall, or a blunt-force injury. You may or may not feel pain, but it's important to have your mouth checked after an injury to look for hidden damage. At People's Dental, we will constantly make your dental emergency a priority by providing effective treatment and methods to prevent future problems.

Best Candidates

At times, you will need emergency care (a tooth or restoration comes out, you are in pain, or your tooth is cracked). In other circumstances, you may be unsure how quickly you need treatment (for example, a loose tooth or restoration, a trauma that doesn't cause pain or bleeding, or a chipped tooth). When you experience an injury to your mouth, including your teeth, gums, and jawbone, it's best to get in touch with our office. Our team can help you decide how quickly to come in, methods to manage pain, and how to preserve your tooth or restoration. Even seemingly minor injuries can cause bigger conditions if not treated right away, so it is best to contact our office immediately.

What To Expect

Every dental emergency is unique, so we will carefully assess your problem before making a diagnosis at your appointment. Digital images may be necessary to check for unseen conditions. Once we understand the extent of your condition, we will talk to you about options and create your treatment plan. You may need one or multiple procedures to restore your oral health.

I went for my consultation on Tuesday the 16th. Upon entering the office, it is very clean and I was greeted with a "happy to have you here" by Julie at the front desk. They were knowledgeable and welcoming. Xrays are usually a challenge for me since my wisdom teeth are pretty far back. Nurse Dawn and Dr. Kelley had me out in about 20 minutes with a referral to a surgeon to get my wisdom teeth removed and schedule a cleaning before getting up. Highly recommend 😃

Based on your issue, we will give you instructions to help you heal after your treatment at People's Dental. We may write you a prescription for antibiotics or pain medication that ought to be taken as directed. Our team will also tell you if you need to schedule an appointment for another procedure or a follow-up exam. Once your dental emergency is handled, you may speak with us about ways to prevent future injuries, including a custom mouth guard to be worn while playing sports. You must continue to adhere to a daily, home oral care regimen with brushing and flossing to keep your teeth and gums strong and healthy. During your annual dental exam at People's Dental, we will continue to keep an eye on your healing progress.
